Every year, about 300,000 people walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain, one of the oldest Christian pilgrimages in the world.

They seek silence and spiritual reflection as they travel 800 kilometres to Santiago de Compostela in the northern part of the country, the burial place of the apostle James.

Not everyone has the time, energy or resources to make such a trip, but Winnipeggers interested in pilgrimages can get a taste of them by joining the Camino Manitoba walk on Saturday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
